Planning

This is a picture of me and my group putting together our lesson plan for the week we teach class in preparation for our art show at the end of the semester.

We are teaching two classes next week about children's art and we are focusing on the scribbling age group 2-4. With research and information from chapter 6 from our books we were able to complete the planning process and set up two days filled with information and activities for the class to enjoy to help them understand the information on the scribblers.

Something that is always needed as a teacher is to plan for the days you are teaching. As well as having extra plans for substitutes who may have to teach your class while you are out sick or some type of family emergency. By being prepared for what you are going to teach you can help your students understand what they need to learn to meet the requirements for the state and local guide lines that are required for each grade level.

Because of the planning I learned that as a teacher I will probably need help putting my work together until I understand fully how to do it. By planning for the unexpected you will be prepared for anything. It is best to over plan than to under plan because if you under plan with children in the class there is a good chance that you may run out of things to actually teach that is why it is important to have extra things planned as a precaution if you happen to run out of time teaching the students. Something that could be used is activities that can help assist with the development of the student in various ways. Artistically, mathematically, language development and so on and so forth.

I feel that without planning a classroom would be complete and utter chaos. Planning is important to help keep both the students under control and not end up in a feeding frenzy of hyper second graders and the teacher organized and know what is coming next in their plans to keep everything in a constant flow with good transitions.
